The Intelligent Answer to Stricter Emission Standards

The STILL RX 70 Series
STILL Combustion engine forklifts

Engine forklifts are still unavoidable for certain areas of use. Diesel trucks are the most popular in these areas.

However, in light of growing environmental consciousness worldwide, ever stricter demands on the vehicles' exhaust and pollutant emissions are in effect. As a result, the European Parliament and Council have ordered an incremental decrease in emissions produced by vehicles and diesel engines within the European Union (Guideline 97/68/EG). Stage IIIb of this regulation, which mainly affects Diesel trucks with a load capacity of more than 2.5 tonnes, has been in effect since 2013.

In order to meet these demands, many manufacturers are implementing particle filters which remove soot and contaminants from the exhaust before emission.

It is much more efficient however, to minimize the creation of these pollutants from the very beginning. Accordingly, the primary goal of STILL's product development team has become to only use diesel particle filters when pollutant emissions cannot be reduced in any other way.

This has resulted in only the most powerful RX 70 (capacity of up to 8 tonnes) requiring outfitting of a standardized, high quality CRT filter which, as opposed to traditional filters, does not require cleaning and continually regenerates itself during use.

All other RX 70 models lie well under the legal requirements and standards without the need for particle filter systems.

This can be explained mainly by the incredible level of energy efficiency found in STILL's engine trucks:

  • most modern engine technologies available
  • diesel-electric drive concept
  • optimized RPM operation
  • intelligent, programmeable drive control
  • Hybrid technology using regenerative energy storage capacitors energy storage

Choosing STILL engine powered forklifts means that you profit both from the best possible use of your vehicles while also easily meeting the legal demands concerning emission standards.

Innovations which Pay Off

Features
Tough applications:
Tough applications:

High ground clearance and robust design makes all the RX 70 models fit for rough outdoor applications to move goods quickly and safely, even on bumpy surfaces.

Fuel tank and range:
Fuel tank and range:

No one gets further. Thanks to state-of-the-art engine technology and engine-electric drive, the RX 70 models stand out with the longest range per filling.

Individual driving programs:
Individual driving programs:

Five adjustable driving programs guarantee that the power of high-quality industrial engines is used effectively.

Encapsulated three-phase generator and motor drive:
Encapsulated three-phase generator and motor drive:

High performance and maintenance free operation, even in rough conditions such high humidity or dust.

Encapsulated wet-disk brakes:
Encapsulated wet-disk brakes:

Longer service life than standard disc or drum brakes and virtually maintenance free operation.

Hybrid:
Hybrid:

The ultracaps of the RX 70 Hybrid store the kinetic energy released during (regenerative) auto-braking and provide a power boost of 8 kW when needed. This makes the RX 70 Hybrid the most economic truck of its class.

engine-electric drive:
engine-electric drive:

A diesel engine propels a generator which provides electric power to the truck's electric drive motor. Due to this, the diesel engine always runs at optimum speed.

Intelligent drive control:
Intelligent drive control:

Engine RPM of the accelerated truck is reduced by 25 % once it's reached cruising speed. You profit from lower fuel consumption.

Blue-Q:
Blue-Q:

The intelligent auto-pilot to economy and ecological responsibility reduces fuel consumption by up to 10% – just by pressing a button. Energy is saved where it is currently not needed by intelligently switching off electric components when they are not in required, such as front lights when the truck is traveling in reverse. These auxiliary electric components can make up to 35% of the energy consumption of the truck.
